Spend a Friday morning trying your hand at brush pen calligraphy along with coffee & cake.
Brush pens are a fantastic alternative to the traditional nib and ink, as well as completely portable and mess free.
For this workshop, we will go through fundamental techniques, stroke variations and lettering styles with colourful small and large brush pens before creating your very own beautiful quotes and greeting cards to keep or gift.
Brush pens are the ideal choice for beginners, there’s no end to the ways you can be creative and discover your own loose and expressive style.

What is included?
A 2 hour workshop - you can take some time out and spend some time on your own, or come with friends and family to try your hand at a new skill. Try out various colourful brush pens during the workshop with two different sized black brush pens included for you to take home as well as your worksheets and final pieces. Tea/coffee and cake is included during the workshop, along with a voucher for £5 off your lunch if you decide to stay, as well as a voucher for 20% off your next visit.
What will we do?
We will begin with an introduction to modern calligraphy techniques, some warm up strokes before practising the alphabet and then moving on to practicing some words before making our final pieces. There will be full guidance throughout and I will be there to help you and answer any further questions you might have.

Can I buy more supplies to continue practising at home?
Yes! I have lots of additional extras available to buy at each workshop, from extra practise paper and books, to my own handmade metallic inks as well as a variety of nibs, pen holders and brush pens.
But my handwriting is rubbish!
That doesn’t matter at all. I’ll tell you a secret - so is mine! This is all about slowing it down, taking it easy and going with the flow. It is easier than it looks, you will have fun and you will be so proud of what you achieve!
I’m left handed - does that matter?
Not at all, there are many left handed calligraphers!
Is there a group limit?
Yes - location depending, there will be a maximum of 12-15 people per workshop to allow each person has full support and I can answer everyones questions should you have them.
Can I buy the ticket for someone else?
Of course - just let me know their names and tick the gift option if you would like a handmade and personalised voucher.
I now can’t make it, can I have a refund?
Unfortunately workshops are non-refundable but I would be happy to transfer your date to a future workshop.
